Burning Questions

  • Is there a ticket or fee to enjoy the New Year’s Eve festivities?

    All of the New Year’s Eve performances are totally free.  There are no badges or buttons required.  Just come to City Dock and enjoy!
  • Where should I park?

    Don’t worry about coins in the meter…no need to circle around for street parking.  City garages are open 24 hours, are convenient and safe! 
    • Noah Hillman Parking Garage – 150 Gorman Street
    • Gotts Court Parking Garage – 25 Northwest Street
    • Knighton Parking Garage – 1A Colonial Avenue
    • Park Place - 5 Park Place

    Park in a City garage and Ride the Circulator FREE right into the heart of the New Year’s Eve fun!

  • Will there be any parking restrictions downtown?

    There will not be any parking restrictions specifically related to New Year's Eve.  However, please be sure to adhere to all residential parking signs to avoid tickets, fines, or towing.

    Meter fee waivers will remain in effect through New Year's Eve.

  • Is the Big Tent heated?

Yes, the Big Tent is heated.  But you will still want to dress warm!  Heaters and crowds will take the chill off, but you'll still need coats and mittens!

  • How can I get around the City?

    Free shuttles will be available throughout the evening.
  • Who is organizing New Year’s Eve this year?

    The City of Annapolis, Mayor's Office is arranging all of the activities this year.
  • Where can I watch the fireworks?

    The best viewing areas from City Dock will be at Susan Campbell Park. There will also be great views from Main Street. Other suggested areas include public spaces northeast of the Severn River, any of the street-end parks facing Spa Creek and aboard a boat in the city harbor.
  • Are there any restrictions for boaters?

    Because of the anticipated crowded conditions, boaters are urged to select their preferred viewing-area anchorage early and are also warned to avoid the 1,000-foot SAFETY ZONE around the fireworks barge. Please note: Immediately after the fireworks, the barge will be underway to clear the harbor. All boaters are urged to heed the instructions of safety and law enforcement officials including the U.S. Coast Guard, the Department of Natural Resources Police, the Annapolis Police, the Annapolis Fire Department, the Annapolis Harbormaster and others.
  • Will there be multiple venues as in past years?

     You can come to one location to enjoy all of the evenings celebrations!  All events planned by the City of Annapolis and listed on this website will be taking place at Susan Campbell Park at City Dock.
  • Will there be food and drinks available at the New Year’s Eve Annapolis celebration?

    No food will be sold at the New Year's Eve celebration.  Please be sure to support one of our local restaurants to enjoy the tastes of Annapolis.
  • Will there be alcohol served at this event?

    This is an alcohol free event. If you would like to celebrate with alcohol, please visit one of our wonderful local bars, restaurants or hotels.  If you are attending New Year’s Eve events anywhere in the area, please drink responsibly and utilize designated drivers.
